House terrace: Lasem is also known for its hand written Batik fabrics, with families usually running the business. Old houses belonging to Batik merchants preserve a long family history, usually reflected in their terraces, which exhibit family pictures in a chronological manner. Indis style old building One of the old buildings on Jl. Dasun is influenced by "Indis" architecture style, which is a product of acculturation between the Dutch and the European culture in general and the Javanese culture.
